Good Shepherd Academy integrates technology into all of our classrooms to enhance student learning and educational experiences throughout each day. All teachers are equipped with Smartboards and/or interactive projectors and document cameras.
Students in Grades K-8 have access to a computer lab filled with brand new all-in-one computers and laptops. Elementary classrooms have all-in-ones/desktops and laptops for center work. iPad minis are available as well. Students in grades K–8 attend weekly computer classes and use the latest version of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher.
All students participate in the worldwide Hour of Code™; the upper grades explore coding even further. Our Middle School Grades 6–8 are required to bring in their own graphing calculators and Windows laptops daily for full technological immersion. They are assigned Microsoft Office 365 Educational Accounts that are used not only for email, but also for collaborative interaction on group projects, study guides, and with Microsoft Teams, the Microsoft online classroom/platform.
“The 'Hour of Code™' is a nationwide initiative by Computer Science Education Week and Code.org to introduce millions of students to one hour of computer science and computer programming.”
