For Fourth Grade Students entering Fifth Grade in September!

All students are required to read

Frindle by Andrew Clements

I will be assigning a project of Frindle the first week of school, so please make sure you read this book BEFORE school starts!

Students must also read at least TWO other books listed in the link below before school starts in September!

You will be required to fill out two "Book Report" forms on the two books you choose!  More info on this in mid August!






     All students should spend time Reading EVERY DAY!  How much time?  That depends on what you are reading and how much you like the book! (If you REALLY like the book you are reading you probably won't want to put it down!).

     In addition to reading everyday, here are some activities to keep your skills sharp and make the transition back to school in September easier (I hope)!

     Go to IXL and log in using your Fourth grade information.

     Go to Language Arts then Reading Strategies.  Complete the activities in these sections:  Main Idea, Theme, Author's Purpose, Text Structure, Inference and Sensory Details.  If you would like to complete other activities, please do so!

     Go to Language Arts, then Writing Strategies, Vocabulary and Grammar and Mechanics.  Complete as many activities in each section as you would like to, but make sure you complete SEntences, fragments and Run Ons; Nouns, Pronouns, Verbs, Adjectives and Adverbs and Prepositions!

     Go to Social Studies and complete activities in English Colonies in North America, Maps and Government!

     For activities in Math and Science go to Mrs. Murphy's page!



Remember to say your prayers!  Especially the rosary!
